SCOTT SUTHERLAND

Scott comes to SutherlandGold from positions as founder of PULSE Strategies and vice-president of Fenton Communications, where he applied the coordinated media blitz of political campaigns to marketing, media relations, and investor relations projects for high-profile clients that included leading brands and government agencies. As senior vice-president of a national consumer organization, he directed all marketing and communications efforts for an umbrella organization representing 12,000 institutions and more than 74 million individuals.

Scott’s investor and media relations efforts as director of marketing communications for LifeMinders included a high-profile launch, complete with Super Bowl advertising and targeted media placements that drove the company’s consumer membership to more than 20 million households in a matter of months. He applied his political affairs strategy and communication skills while managing communications and advertising strategy for several U.S. Congressional campaigns, and served as the top communications strategist to former U.S. Labor Secretary Robert B. Reich. Scott’s press savvy dates back to early positions as an Associated Press staff writer and editor of a daily newspaper in his home state of Texas.

As a senior communication and marketing strategist, Scott has led national campaigns for household brands, multi-million-dollar IPOs, leading national politicians and one of the nation’s largest consumer organizations. He brings proven expertise in corporate communications, investor relations, public affairs and crisis communications, as well as close relationships with top national business media to SutherlandGold.

Scott holds a B.A. in journalism from Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
