MIKE BARASH
Mike Barash has worked in consumer and technology marketing, branding, communications, events, and public relations for over 10 years. He has worked with global brands, start-ups, and everything in-between, with emphasis on digital media, consumer electronics, and consumer Internet companies. Mike helps brands achieve visibility and acquire customers combining social media with offline programs and events like SXSW, HOW Design, etc.
Most recently Mike spent nearly 3 years as director of marketing communications and global PR with Blurb, a DIY book publishing platform catering to high-end photographers and creative professionals. In this role he led all outbound marketing communications, managed several PR agencies worldwide, ran events, and touched programs including branding, social media, copy development / copywriting, and many others depending on the day and the need.
Before Blurb, Mike was a VP at Atomic PR, working with social media, consumer technology and entertainment accounts including Photobucket, imeem, Flock, hi5, Blurb, Kosmix, StepUp Commerce, Avvenu, and others. Before Atomic, Mike worked with Ketchum’s technology practice in San Francisco and Los Angeles, where he led the Geek Squad’s award-winning national media relations / influencer / consumer events campaign, spanning 45 markets across the United States.
Mike has also worked with brands including Kodak, Nokia, Visa, Siemens, Ubisoft, ActiveVideo Networks, and Movieclips.com, among others.
Mike lives in Marin County with his wife and 2 boys, and is a rabid music fan who takes in as much live music as he possibly can.
